New Authors

If you are considering writing a book, you are embarking on an often long and complicated process. But one that is very fulfilling! If you are already in the process of writing a book, you are ahead of those who consider, but never do! If you have completed your first manuscript, congratulations! Not everyone will get where you are. However, now you will be full of questions...

• Do I go with a traditional publishing house? or a Self Publishing company?

You will want to rely on, and get help in some, or all, of these areas from a professional who has experience and expertise, up- to-date marketing information, contact names and numbers to help coach you, the New Author, through this new and exciting process. I will streamline a package for you that fits your individual needs, based on your budget, decisions and timing.

The editing process depends on the author.
1. If you are not sure if your manuscript is marketable, you can request a 'read', which includes a manuscript evaluation.
2. Once you are confident in your manuscript's completeness, you request the edit.

The Editing Process (to be professional, manuscripts must be copy ready for any publisher)
1. Initial read and edit of a completed manuscript is done by me, then returned to the client to make the necessary changes.
2. Once those revisions are completed, a new cleaned copy is returned to me to be proof read before it should be submitted to a publisher. This stage is crutial, as changes made after this stage by the publisher can be very costly to the writer. Any last minute additions must be included here.
3. The "galley proof" is the final read of a produced publisher copy to be checked by the client and me. Allowed changes at this point are minimal (usually limited to 1 hour time or 25 changes), or additional fees are charged by the publisher.

The final publisher run copy must be CLEAN!!!
